Himalayan Hope is a small fundraising charity (SC038843) founded in 2007 to support and encourage community development in Lamagaon village, Nepal. The inspiration for the charity came from an initial visit to Nepal, when one of our trustees spent a few months living in the village of Lamagaon and on returning home to Scotland, wanted to continue supporting the community work of Nepali NGO Himalaya Anandit Shakti there.
Our wee charity is solely made up of a few family members, and as much of the money as possible that we raise goes directly to the villagers and the projects that they are working on. (We use the remainder for bank transfer charges and to maintain this website.)
The values of our organisation are based around respect for community autonomy, mutual aid and cooperation, as well as transparency
